Skilling Queenslanders for Work at SANDBAG was successful in receiving funding from the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. As a result, we are offering three programs over the next 12 months: Certificate I Construction, Certificate I Conservation and Land Management (CALM) and Certificate III Individual Support.

Firstly we would like to say a big “thank you!” to our community partners, local business, and organisations for your support through the application process. We look forward to working with you in the delivery of these programs.

As part of the CALM and Construction traineeships, trainees alongside their experienced and qualified supervisors, work on various projects in our community. Therefore, if you are a community group or not-for-profit organisation in need of some practical assistance such as:

  • Basic construction, sheds, tilling, painting, concreting etc.
  • Soft landscaping, gardening, weeding, mulching, planting
  • Environmental or sustainable practices
  • Creating or restoring native habitats and revegetation

If you can provide the materials, we can provide the labour at no charge to you. These three programs will have staggered commencement dates over the next few months, so stay tuned to our socials.

We would love to speak with you!

Please contact Shelly or Rhiannon on 38693244 or email sqw@sandbag.org.au to find out more information about participating in, or receiving assistance through these programs.

Lastly, our Skilling Queenslanders for Work program is currently recruiting in Certificate III Individual Support – check it out now and sign up ASAP. (Applications close Monday the 26th of October.)
